There are three layers of fabric. The top and bottom layers are a gauzy cotton, and the middle layer has a metallic element that helps prevent mold and odors.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's very common to carry a soft handkerchief in Japan as the climate can range from rain to snow to hot and humid, so it's practical to have something handy for wiping your hands or face.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fabric measures approximately 7.75\" x 7.75\" (20 cm x 20 cm) when completed. Important: Please read care instructions before starting the project.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe suggest using a thinner thread (embroidery or thin 4-ply sashiko) for this, rather than thicker sashiko threads, but it depends on your design.
